UniversalChris Pratt is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, having had major roles in two blockbusters last year: Guardians of the Galaxy and The LEGO Movie. He may very well have another hit this coming weekend with Jurassic World.
Pratt addressed his rise to stardom at a recent news conference to promote his latest movie. He joked that he “always knew” he’d hit it big as a movie actor, saying, “I was like, well, as soon as I have three franchises to my name — no, I never could have known it. No way.”
“It’s a pretty rare, rarified space to be in. Yes, I am feeling very blessed and overcome with joy,” he continued.
Pratt suggested his performance in Jurassic World is a departure from his comedic roles in projects like Guardians of the Galaxy and the TV series Parks and Recreation.
He commented, “For the most part it was deadly serious, and a bit of a darkness, like this is a guy who’s been through something. A guy who’s been through combat, who lives on an island, who’s chosen to move away from the world and live on the dark side of an island.”
Jurassic World arrives in theaters this Friday.
