Bob Saget Didn't Expect “Full House's” Return

Noel Vasquez/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Bob Saget is excited for Fuller House, Netflix’s upcoming update of his sitcom Full House. It was announced last week that he was on board, but he admits to being surprised the show is making a comeback.

“I was on it and I didn’t expect this,” he told ABC Radio at Monday’s premiere of Entourage, in which he also appears.

“I just know…there was a lot of love within the show,” the comic says, “And it was made for families to sit down and watch it together. It’s amazing that it’s doing what it’s doing.”

Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are also signed on to the show, which is slated for a 2016 debut. Bure’s character will reportedly be a widowed mother of three, who has her sister Stephanie and friend Kimmy — played by Sweetin and Barber, respectively — move in to help.

Original series stars Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier and John Stamos will also appear, but two of the show’s biggest stars, twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, have declined to participate.
