Tracy Morgan Says He's '75 Percent'

Peter Kramer/NBC(NEW YORK) — One year after surviving a horrific crash, Tracy Morgan is working hard to recover from his injuries, but still has a ways to go to get back to where he once was.

“I’m at 75 percent,” Morgan tells People magazine. “I have my good days and I have my bad days.”

The comedian suffered several broken bones and a traumatic brain injury June 7, 2014 on New Jersey Turnpike after a Walmart truck slammed into the limo van in which he was traveling. Fellow comic James McNair died in the crash.  Morgan now he spends a lot of his time in speech and physical therapy, learning to walk and stand again.

Morgan said that it’s his fiancee Megan Wollover and their daughter Maven that “keeps me going.”

“Sometimes I feel a little off, I might forget things,” he says. “I want to walk my wife down the aisle. I am determined to play with my little daughter and chase her around.”

“I have a lot to look forward to: I look forward to [her] first day of school, I look forward to being married. …I am happy to be alive,” he added.

Morgan and Walmart recently reached a confidential settlement related to the crash.
