“Fifty Shades of Grey” Gets New Sequel Out June 18

Universal(NEW YORK) — Fifty Shades of Grey fans know how the romance between college student Anastasia Steele and business magnate Christian Grey evolved from Steele’s point of view. Now, readers will find out Grey’s point of view in E.L. James’ new book, simply titled Grey, out June 18.

The author announced the news by posting the book cover on Instagram. The caption read: “Hello all. For those of you who have asked, Christian’s POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday. It’s called GREY… I hope you enjoy it. #FiftyShades #Grey.”

James says on the opening page of Grey, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that she penned the book after many fans asked for the story to be told this way.

“Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations and his troubled past,” she writes, according to the magazine. “Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place — writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage [Books].”

After Grey is released later this month, fans can head to the theater to see the sequel Fifty Shades Darker, starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, out February 10, 2017.
