Enrique Iglesias Undergoing Hand Surgery After Drone Incident

Virginia Sherwood/NBC(LOS ANGELES) — Following an unfortunate run-in with a drone during a weekend concert that left him with sliced and bleeding fingers, Enrique Iglesias is undergoing reconstructive hand surgery today.

A rep for the singer tells ABC News, “Thank you to all for your concern and good wishes,” and adds, “[Enrique] “will resume his tour July 3rd in Mexico City. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”

As previously reported, Enrique was performing in Mexico City Saturday when he grabbed the drone he uses during concerts to capture video of the audience and tried to turn it around and show the fans a different view.

The drone’s spinning propellers mangled his fingers, but he continued performing for another 30 minutes before being rushed to the airport and put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist.
