“Tomorrowland” Wins Holiday Box Office Weekend

Buena Vista(NEW YORK) — Disney’s latest film landed in first place during the four-day Memorial Day weekend.

Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney, earned an estimated 41.7 million dollars from Friday through Monday to debut in the top spot.

The previous box office champ, Pitch Perfect 2, slipped to second place, collecting 38.5 million during the same time frame.

The horror remake Poltergeist opened in fifth place, with 26.5 million.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Monday, with estimated ticket sales, according to Rentrak:

3. Mad Max: Fury Road, $32.1 million
4. Avengers: Age of Ultron, $27.8 million
