Smith, who underwent the procedure to repair a hemorrhage on his vocal cords, tweeted that he’s “flying” after waking up from the procedure.

“Just woken up from op,” he tweeted. “I’m high on pain killers and listening to Whitney Houston hahahahaha.”

Last week, the 22-year-old announced that his doctor had advised him to undergo “suspension microlaryngoscopy surgery” to treat a hemorrhage on his vocal cords. He is expected to be fully recovered in several weeks, though he admitted Wednesday that he was anxious about the procedure.

“Looking through all your beautiful messages. Makes me emotional to know I have so many people wishing me well,” he wrote.
