George Clooney Talks Married Life: 'I Couldn't Be Happier'

ABC/Ida Mae Astute (NEW YORK) — George Clooney says marriage has completely changed his life.

“That’s right, I’m a married man now,” the Oscar-winner declared on Good Morning America Thursday. “Everything’s different now. Actually it is. I was going to make a joke but it is, actually.”

George and Amal Clooney were married in Italy last September.  It seems the actor is still enjoying wedded bliss.

“I couldn’t be happier,” he said. “We’re having a really fun time. We’re working on fixing up a house in England that we’ll be spending a lot of time in just outside of London. And we’ve been sort of traveling the world. We’re on our way to Shanghai.”

The happy couple’s reported plan to not spend more than a week apart has admittedly been difficult, “because she actually has a day job,” Clooney quipped. “She has to, like, get people out of jail.”

Clooney has been quite busy himself gearing up for his new film, Tomorrowland, in which he plays a brilliant inventor on an epic adventure to save the planet,  It hits theaters May 22.  Clooney said the movie was a bit of a departure for him: “This is the first time I’ve done a film where the premiere was mostly children.”

Clooney said he was drawn to the role because of the film’s message. “I love the idea of it because…it sort of starts with the NASA program and how we’re losing sight of doing the things we used to do and dreaming and we’re losing sight of doing things,” Clooney explained, before adding the film also shows that a single person can make a difference.

“Yeah, I’m a big believer in that,” Clooney said.

Tomorrowland is produced by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
