“American Idol” – Fox(LOS ANGELES) — Nick Fradiani was crowned the new American Idol champion on Wednesday night.
The 29-year-old singer from Guilford, Connecticut, received more of the viewers’ votes than runner-up Clark Beckham, 22, from White House, Tennessee.
After host Ryan Seacrest made the announcement, Nick received hugs from his fellow finalists. He then performed his new single, “Beautiful Life.”
Nick will be awarded a recording contract.
The 15th and final season of American Idol begins in January.
