Fox Reveals 2015-2016 Schedule

“Minority Report” – Bruce Macaulay/FOX(NEW YORK) — Fox announced its 2015-2016 schedule Monday, with much of the talk centered on the impending end of American Idol.

As you’ve probably heard by now, the singing competition will return for its 15th and final season in January.

Several Fox shows won’t have the opportunity for a swan song. The Mindy Project was cancelled, though it’s rumored to be headed to Hulu. Backstrom, Red Band Society and The Following are a few of the other programs to get the axe.

Perhaps the most high-profile new show coming to Fox this fall is Scream Queens, from Glee creator Ryan Murphy. The anthology series will star Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Ariana Grande.

Scream Queens is part of an all-new Tuesday-night lineup that also includes Grandfathered, a comedy starring John Stamos as a bachelor who discovers he’s both a father and a grandfather, and The Grinder, featuring Rob Lowe as a TV lawyer who joins his brother at a real-life law firm.

New Girl will be back Tuesday nights beginning in January.

A small-screen version of the movie Minority Report will air Monday nights, and the drama Rosewood, with Morris Chestnut as a pathologist, will serve as a lead-in to Empire Wednesday nights. Empire will welcome Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz as guest stars during its second season.

The X-Files revival will premiere Jan. 24. A week later, Fox will debut its live production of Grease, starring Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens.

Midseason entries include The Frankenstein Code and the DC Comics-inspired Lucifer.
