Adam Levine Hit with Powdered Sugar Bomb, Suspect Arrested

Brian Bowen Smith/NBC(LOS ANGELES) — Maroon 5’s new single is called “Sugar,” and that’s just what frontman Adam Levine was apparently hit in the face with after the band performed that very song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night.

According to the LAPD, Levine was in a parking lot outside the studio after the show signing autographs for fans when a man in his mid-30s attacked the singer and four others with powdered sugar.

A fan tells KABC-TV Levine was with his wife when he was attacked around 8:30 p.m. local time. The singer brushed off the sugar and continued on.

Police say security detained the suspect until cops arrived. The unidentified suspect was arrested on suspicion of battery on Levine and the others.

Ironically, during his appearance on Kimmel, Levine chatted with the host and talked about past scary run-ins with fans, like a recent incident at a concert that left him with a cut ear.

Fans at the scene tweeted the aftermath of the sugar attack, including the suspect being held on the pavement by security.
