Brian Bowen Smith/E! Entertainment(LOS ANGELES) — Bruce Jenner’s sit-down with ABC’s Diane Sawyer apparently wasn’t the last word regarding his gender transition.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night, Keeping Up with the Kardashians Executive Producer Ryan Seacrest teased the E! show’s upcoming two-part special “About Bruce,” in which Jenner was filmed coming forward to his famous family about his life-changing decision.
Seacrest said the special is actually “two extra episodes that will air within the season, coming up this month.”
“So you shot him telling everyone?” Kimmel asked excitedly.
“We did — you know, the show is a docuseries, it’s a docu-show,” Seacrest explained.
Calling the idea “fantastic,” Kimmel commented, “When we saw him sit down with Diane Sawyer…He talked about telling each of the kids, and I didn’t even think about — ‘Oh, he told each of the kids with the camera there in the room…which is crazy!” Kimmel exclaimed.
Seacrest explained, “Yeah, I mean, but you know, he’s been doing that for so many years with the camera in the room, so this just is his story…”
Seacrest insisted the cameras didn’t get in the way of the reality of the moment. “There are times when we have one person in a room and you don’t really feel that there’s a camera there.”
The two-part special, Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, will air Sunday, May 17 at 9 p.m. and Monday, May 18, also at 9 p.m.
