Jane Fonda: ‘It's Perfectly Possible’ a Woman Will Be Elected President

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — Jane Fonda wouldn’t mind seeing a woman in the White House in the near future.

While meeting with reporters to discuss her new Netflix series, Grace and Frankie, the actress and women’s rights activist was asked about the possibility that a female candidate — namely, Hillary Clinton — could be elected president in 2016.

Fonda said “it’s perfect possible and maybe even probable,” though she added, “It’s not good to make it look like it’s inevitable. I think we’re all going to have to work hard and make sure we show up and vote.”

Fonda suggested one benefit to having a woman run the country: “Maybe that would lead to equal pay. Wouldn’t that be nice?”

“It’s about time,” she continued.

Fonda co-stars with Lily Tomlin in Grace and Frankie, which premieres May 8 on Netflix. They play two women who bond after their husbands leave their wives for each other.
