Manny Carabel/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Tyson Beckford is ready to take it off. Starting Thursday, the model will be part of the Chippendales Male Revue in Las Vegas.
And now he’ll get his chance, following Chippendales guest appearances from Sharknado star Ian Ziering and 98 Degrees member Jeff Timmons.
“Chippendales is such a classy brand that you can’t lose with it,” says Beckford. “And seeing Ian do it before me, and he had a great time, so I figured it works with us [and] what we’re doing.”
And don’t worry ladies, Beckford says he’s not afraid to show some skin. “Booty, that’s easy! You know, that’s easy! Add a construction hat over the front, or the cowboy hat, whichever. We’ll figure it out,” he says, laughing.
Beckford will have to be careful not to upset his girlfriend, Australian model, Shanina Shaik. “I try to be very respectful towards her,” he explains. “And she does Victoria Secret so she doesn’t expose a lot so I’ll try to keep on that line.”
“But…some nights [I’m] gonna have to moon them I guess,” he quips, laughing.
Beckford, who’s known for his chiseled physique, says he focused his workouts on his abs, legs and butt to prepare for the show “because that’s what the women want to see.”
After Beckford strips down onstage, could we see him on the big screen in a movie like Magic Mike? “I mean if they’d called me in for it, I would do it definitely. It’s a good brand,” he tells ABC Radio.
For now, he’s set to star in Chocolate City, which has been called “the black Magic Mike.” The film centers on a college student struggling to make ends meet until he finds a lucrative career as a stripper. Chocolate City, also starring Carmen Electra, Vivica A. Fox and R&B singer Ginuwine, hits theaters May 22.
Beckford will be part of the Chippendales Male Revue at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino through May 24.
