TIMOTHY A. CLARY/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — When comedian Amy Schumer took a dive in front of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as they walked the red carpet at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City Tuesday evening, many thought the celebrity couple wasn’t amused. Not so, said Schumer.
“I saw them, and I asked my publicist, ‘Can I dive in front of them and act like I fell?’ And she said, ‘I can’t stop you,'” Schumer told People magazine of the incident. “I just dove right down.”
Afterward, Schumer said she spoke to KimYe about her stunt and the pair seemed to take it all in stride.
“I talked to them. They were like, ‘What?’ Kim was worried for me, and I think Kanye was just, like, scared that I was doing something,” she recalled. “They were really sweet.”
Schumer said Kardashian seemed to laugh the most at the gag.
“Kim was really funny,” she said. “She goes, ‘Oh my god, I was like, does this girl need help?’ She was like, ‘That was really funny.'”
Schumer added that she has no regrets about her red-carpet prank. “They were right there! The epicenter of America. Gotta do it. It was the best,” she said.
All three celebrities are among TIME’s list of 100 Most Influential People in the World.
