Jon Stewart Reveals Date of His Final Daily Show Episode

Martin Crook / Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Jon Stewart will end his run on The Daily Show in four months.

Monday night on the Comedy Central program, Stewart announced his last episode will air on Thursday, Aug. 6. He said, “I will be wearing a suit, I will more than likely be showered.”

After the audience sighed, Stewart joked, “I’m sorry, I’ll be wearing overalls and I won’t shower.”

You can donate money via Omaze.com for the chance to win tickets to Stewart’s final taping. Proceeds will benefit New York Collaborates For Autism and Night of Too Many Stars.

Stewart, 52, who has been the face of The Daily Show since 1999, announced in February that he would step down as host later this year. He recently explained his decision to The Guardian, remarking, “It’s not like I thought the show wasn’t working anymore, or that I didn’t know how to do it. It was more, ‘Yup, it’s working. But I’m not getting the same satisfaction.’”

In late March, Comedy Central revealed that Trevor Noah will replace Stewart. Noah’s start date is not yet known.
