Anna Kendrick to Pen a Book of Funny Essays

ABC/Rick Rowell(NEW YORK) — Anna Kendrick will not only be cracking up moviegoers when the sequel to Pitch Perfect hits theaters next month, but she’ll also be getting laughs from readers as she’s releasing a book of funny autobiographical essays, publisher Touchstone announced Thursday.

The untitled book will detail the Oscar nominee’s life from growing up in Maine to her success in Hollywood.

“I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself,” Kendrick said in statement.

“And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea,” she continued. “Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!”

It will hit bookshelves in fall 2016. Before then, fans can see Kendrick in Pitch Perfect 2, out May 15.
