Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Mad Men star Jon Hamm took to People magazine to respond to a tabloid story that purported he and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt were splitting up.
In a statement to People, the couple’s rep said, “The story that appeared in this week’s edition of In Touch magazine is not true. The only gentleman Jennifer visited regularly in Connecticut was Jon, while he was in rehab. They continue to ask for the public’s understanding and sensitivity during this challenging time.
While Hamm’s announcement that he underwent rehab for alcohol addition was a surprise, he publicly thanked his girlfriend of 16 years for helping him through the program.
