Chrissy Teigen Helps Brings “Lip Sync Battle” to TV

Viacom/Spike TV(NEW YORK) — When Lip Sync Battle premieres Thursday, Jimmy Fallon will go head-to-head with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the two dance and pretend to sing to popular hit songs.

It’s only right that Fallon kick off the new Spike TV competition, since the idea came from a popular skit on his late-night talk show. Now, it’s turned into its own TV show, with LL Cool J hosting and model Chrissy Teigen giving color commentary.

On Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Michael, Teigen described how the show is played: “[There’s] two rounds; the first one is kind of stripped down. And then [celebs] can ask for anything for the second round, and they do.”

Although she didn’t compete on the series, which has already been recorded, Teigen revealed she got a little knocked around while giving her commentary.

“As soon as we got to episode 10 through 20 I was just covered in bruises. Doctors were very worried,” she said with a laugh.

Teigen’s husband, R&B singer John Legend, will also compete on the show. But unlike the Grammy winner, Teigen said she can’t sing a note. “No, not at all,” she said.

Other celebs to appear on Lip Sync Battle are Anne Hathaway, Justin Bieber, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez, Meghan Trainor, Common, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Queen Latifah, Iggy Azalea, Terry Crews and more.

Spike’s Lip Sync Battle premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
