Which “Terminator” Film Does Arnold Schwarzenegger Say 'Sucked'?

David McNew/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — In the first Terminator film, Arnold Schwarzenegger said he’d be back.  Now he’s back for a fourth time in Terminator: Genisys. It’s actually the fifth film in the Terminator film series and marks the former California governor’s return to the science-fiction flicks after bowing out of Terminator Salvation, which was released in 2009.

“You didn’t do the fourth?” ABC News correspondent Nick Watt asked Schwarzenegger in an interview that aired on Tuesday’s Good Morning America.

The actor replied, laughing: “Thank God.”

“Why, was it bad?” Watt asked.

“It sucked,” Schwarzenegger said.

Thirty-one years after the original Terminator premiered, Schwarzenegger’s character fights his younger self in Genisys.

“Here the challenge was, how do I have the same frame as I had in the 1984 movie?” the 67-year-old former champion bodybuilder said, adding that he “wasn’t that far away from it.”

“I was an eight. So, I had to push it up to a ten. But within two months I got to that size,” Schwarzenegger said.

Genisys is the start of a new Terminator trilogy. “They paid a lot of attention to make this movie really work, to make this movie really go through the roof because then there’s a reason to do two more,” Schwarzenegger explained.

Terminator: Genisys also stars Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Divergent actor Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
