Debi Mazar: Shauna Is Doing Tons of ‘Damage Control’ in “Entourage” Movie

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Debi Mazar is back as the sharp-tongued publicist Shauna in the highly-anticipated film adaption of the HBO dramedy series Entourage. According to Mazar, Vincent Chase, played by Adrian Grenier, and the boys are keeping Shauna very busy in the film.

“Shauna has always been the person who’s handling the drama, handling the stress, trying to control the media,” Mazar tells ABC Radio. “In today’s world, we have the Internet. You say one thing it’s misconstrued. So her job is full-time because those guys are all over the place, and [there’s] a lot of damage control.  So, she’s just doing what she does best.”

It sounds as if Mazar may have experienced that need herself. “PR is a key in today’s climate because it’s all over the place. You know, there’s just so much information,” the new Silenor spokeswoman says. “People have cameras and they’re going ‘So what’d you think of this?’ And then like they’re twisting your words or they’re shooting you and you’re not expecting it.”

In Entourage, Vince is going behind the camera to write and direct his own movie. And apparently, he’s way over budget. “It’s a big, big-money movie. And Ari Gold, [played by] Jeremy Piven, is all over it. And the guys are involved…so it gets heated,” says Mazar, adding, “And the guys are getting into some stuff and I can’t tell you what that is.”

Mazar says she’s glad the beloved HBO series is coming to the big screen. “It was nice to bring it back because after the series was over it was sad. You feel like you’re breaking up,” she says.

Entourage, also starring Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara, hits theaters nationwide June 12.
