iStock/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) — Marvin Gaye’s family isn’t satisfied with the recent verdict awarding them nearly 7.4 million dollars in the “Blurred Lines” case.
The family’s attorneys on Tuesday night filed a request for a federal judge to block the sale, distribution and performance of Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams’ smash hit, according to the Los Angeles Times. The filing argues that sales of the song represent continued copyright infringement.
A jury determined last week that Robin and Pharrell ripped off Gaye’s 1977 hit “Got to Give It Up” for “Blurred Lines.”
Gaye’s family is now also requesting that another “Blurred Lines” collaborator, T.I., and the record labels involved in the song be held liable as well.
