Report: Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan Seek Big Raises for “Fifty Shades” Sequels

“Fifty Shades of Grey” – Focus Features(LOS ANGELES) — Fifty Shades of Grey stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are looking to cash in on the success of their movie.

The Hollywood Reporter says each star earned $250,000, plus bonuses, for their roles in the film, but will try to renegotiate seven-figure raises for two potential sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

Johnson and Dornan are reportedly using Twilight and The Hunger Games franchises as a guide for how they should be paid. Regarding their current contracts, which has both signed for potential sequels, an insider comments to The Hollywood Reporter, “It was a very basic franchise starter deal,” adding, “Look at Twilight and Hunger Games, and that’s where it is heading.”

The trade publication notes that Jennifer Lawrence received 10 million bucks for the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, after earning $500,000 for the first film in the series.

Reportedly, a Fifty Shades Darker movie could be shot early next year and hit theaters in 2017.

Fifty Shades of Grey
has made more than $500 million worldwide since its release a month ago.
