“Parks and Recreation” Finale to Include Tribute to Late Executive Producer

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images For AFI(LOS ANGELES) — Parks and Recreation will end its seven-season run on NBC Tuesday night with a tribute to its late executive producer, Harris Wittels.

Wittels had worked on the show in some capacity since its first season. He died Thursday at the age 30 of what police suspect was a drug overdose.

The series finale will conclude with a “We Love You, Harris” message from the cast and crew, according to Deadline.

Parks and Recreation, which premiered in 2009, stars Amy Poehler as a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana. The show helped launch the careers of Chris Pratt, Nick Offerman and Aubrey Plaza. Other cast members through the years have included Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe and Adam Scott.

The hour-long series finale will air at 10 p.m. Eastern time. Later in the night, the entire cast will appear on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers.
