HBO/Macall B. Polay(NEW YORK) — If you’re into role playing but don’t feeling like getting dressed up for it, HBO has just the board game for you based on its hugely popular Game of Thrones series.
It’s a special Games of Thrones version of Monopoly in which players “will buy, sell and trade their way to sit atop the Iron Throne.”
The game, which isn’t available just yet, will feature locations familiar to fans of George R.R. Martin’s books and of course, the HBO series, that include King’s Landing, Winterfell and Castle Black.
Instead of racing cars, thimbles, etc. as playing pieces, contestants go around the board with a white walker, direwolf, three-eyed raven, dragon egg, crown and The Iron Throne. Custom villages and keeps replace the traditional houses and hotels.
Oh, and the game, unlike other Monopoly special editions, is recommended for players 18+ because of mature content, i.e., plenty of wars and death.
