ABC Stars Make Suggestions for Valentine's Day

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Valentine’s Day is almost here, and if you’re scrambling for a way to impress your loved one, ABC’s “Bachelor,” Chris Soules, has a couple of worthwhile suggestions.

He tells ABC News Radio, “Roses are always a good idea. And love notes have gotten me a long ways in life as well. So those are two solid investments for Valentine’s Day.”

One more piece of advice from Soules: Don’t put too much pressure on yourself while trying to impress your significant other. He explains, “I think it’s just kind of about reflecting on the love that you have and how important they are in your life.”

Scandal star Scott Foley believes bigger is better on Valentine’s Day. He reveals, “The better the gift, the bigger the flowers, the more personal the thought, the better off I am.”

Foley’s character on his ABC series, Jake, has been romantically involved with Kerry Washington’s Olivia on the show. How would they spend Valentine’s Day? He wonders, “I don’t know if I could say that out loud. I think they would find the most appropriate, appropriately inappropriate way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I think they’d find somewhere in the sun to sit down and enjoy each other’s company.”

Foley’s co-star Katie Lowes, who plays Quinn, recalled to ABC News Radio a disastrous Valentine’s Day experience she had a few years ago. She shares that she tried to make the holiday a sexy one for her and her husband by lighting candles in their home, but she locked herself out.

Lowes continues that she “spent all of Valentine’s Day trying to find a locksmith and paying $250 for them to come and break into this lock that was like an old Hollywood door from the ’20s that didn’t have a lock thing that works anymore with this modern technology, and I thought the apartment was going to burn down.”
