IFC(LOS ANGELES) — Patricia Arquette still can’t believe she’s been nominated for an Oscar for her role in Boyhood. In fact, two days after she discovered her good fortune, the news was still settling in while she was dining with her boyfriend, Eric White.
“My boyfriend went to the bathroom and I seem to have woken up while he left,” she told reporters at the Oscars nominees luncheon on Monday. “I grabbed this kid next to me and was like, ‘I got nominated. For an Academy Award.’ He looked at me and was like, ‘No, you didn’t?’ And I was like ‘I know. Can you believe it? Google it.'”
When her boyfriend returned, Arquette said she was “jumping and screaming” with the kid who was eating next to her.
The Oscars, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air on ABC Feb. 22.
