ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — The news broke in December that the hottest couple quite literally in Hollywood — Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello — were engaged. But Vergara finally confirmed the news Sunday night on the SAG Awards red carpet, and even dished on their upcoming nuptials.
Have they picked a date yet? The Modern Family actress told Access Hollywood on the red carpet, “We’re trying to figure it out because…he’s shooting and promoting Magic Mike this summer and I’m promoting my movie with Reese Witherspoon and so we’re kinda busy, but we’re trying to do it maybe [in the] fall.”
Magic Mike XXL will strut into theaters July 1, while Vergara’s film with Witherspoon — Don’t Mess With Texas — hits theaters May 8.
“Summer is going to be too crazy,” Vergara added.
Still, they do know they’ll have a large guestlist. “It’s big. We started, like, ‘It’s only 20.’ Yeah right! It’s like now there’s like pages and pages,” she said.
Vergara also gushed about the new sparkler on her left hand. “It’s all about the bling-bling, so he knew what I needed,” she said with a smile.
Still, the actress would’ve said yes if Manganiello opted for a smaller diamond. “I opened it up and I checked it to see,” Vergara quipped. “He’s so handsome that it would have been okay, you know? I would have said, ‘Okay, yeah.'”
Manganiello popped the question on Christmas Day while on vacation in Hawaii. The two began dating last May, after Vergara ended her two-year engagement to businessman Nick Loeb.
